Irvine church presents musical drama about life’s struggles: "The Errand," presented at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in Woodbridge, is about a young man who is sentenced to perform community service by cleaning out the attic of a woman who has passed away. He discovers a book written by the woman about angels and letters of appreciation written to her by people who had read the book. The original musical drama includes singing, dancing, humor and life scenes familiar to many. It was written by Jolie Hales, recent graduate from Chapman University. >More

Recent Commentary:

In Theory: Promoting a positive Muslim image: Many religious organizations today are facing the need for a better public image — including mine. However, it is the responsibility of all faiths to work toward an improved understanding of our common and shared values to reduce suspicion and antipathy. Latter-day Saints have an active outreach to the Islamic community, where we have shared programs to improve our understanding and appreciation of each other's beliefs and traditions. "The inquiry is often made of me, 'Wherein do you differ from others in your religious views?' In reality and essence we do not differ so far in our religious views, but that we should all drink in the principle of love. One of the grand fundamental principles of 'Mormonism' is to receive truth, let it come from whence it may."
-- Joseph Smith, first president and prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
